Initial salary placement is based on education and experience and ranges from $94,661 (class I, step 1 1.1080 time factor for 195 on-duty days per year) to $158,472 (class VI-doctorate, step 10 1.1080 time factor) on the 2024-2025 Annual Salary Schedule. Minimum Qualifications:
To be eligible for this position, you must meet and provide evidence of the following minimum qualifications:
1. Masters degree in counseling, rehabilitation counseling, clinical psychology, counseling psychology, guidance counseling, educational counseling, social work, career development, marriage and family therapy, or marriage, family and child counseling;
OR
2.Masters degree in "Education, Concentration: Counseling"; "Education: Counseling Option"; "Education: Counseling and Guidance Concentration"; "Education: Educational and Clinical Counseling"; "Education: Educational Counseling"; "Education: School Counseling"; "Guidance and Counseling"; "Marriage & Family Counseling"; or "Social Welfare" (approved comparable degrees at MiraCosta College);
OR
3. Bachelors degree in any of the majors listed in (1) above AND a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) license valid in California;
5. a fully satisfied, lifetime California Community College credential authorizing instruction/service in the appropriate subject matter;
AND
6. demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty and staff.
